Deja Vu, Anyone?

The article below was written over 18 years ago. Our nation’s debt stood at what was then considered a staggering amount of 8.5 Trillion dollars. In today’s dollars, that would equate to roughly 13.66 trillion dollars. Instead, our leaders have racked up over 37 trillion dollars of debt in this short period of time with no end in sight. It will cost over 1 trillion dollars just to service this debt each year. Added to this is Trump’s proposal to raise the debt ceiling by 5 trillion dollars for his “One Big Beautiful Bill” to have wiggle room to grow. With that in mind, lets take a trip in the “Way-Back Machine” and see if what I wrote could be an opportunity to shake things up a bit.

Just A Proposal

BACK

Ok, I was able to get some of my frustration out in the recent article dated 10/22/06. So, at least for now, enough with pointing out that our current resident at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is the worst leader that this nation has ever had to endure. If all goes well, and the American people have enough courage to vote this administration’s “rubber-stamp” Congress out of office, we need to propose a meaningful solution to this current one-party rule under the guise of two names: Republican and Democrat.

Nancy Pelosi, who could, and should, become the next Speaker of the House, has already declared that “impeachment is off of the table” which means that, even if investigations were to prove that our president and his administration are guilty of impeachable offenses, the Democrats will not have enough of a spine, and will be incapable of fulfilling their oath to protect and defend the Constitution, to impeach this tyrannical administration!

Albert Einstein has been quoted as defining insanity as follows: “the act of doing the same thing over and over again, yet expecting different results!” It is insane to continually vote for the lesser of two evils in the hope that someone will finally be elected who will stand up for the American citizens. I have three words for you, “AIN’T GONNA HAPPEN!”

It is equally insane to cast your vote for one of the minor parties, such as the Constitution, Libertarian, or Green Parties, in no particular order. I know that members of these organizations would strongly disagree, but the fact of the matter is that these individual parties have very little to show for their valiant efforts, over the years, in our national elections. We must have a strategy in place whereby we can make a meaningful difference in the political landscape before the 2008 election season. The solution will have to have the financing, organization, and structure to mount a serious campaign in every race in the ’08 general elections! This monumental task is far beyond the resources available to each of these individual parties.

What Is The Proposed Solution?

To overcome the obstacles that will present themselves in electing a significant number of Senators and Representatives into Congress to enable, at the very least, a swing vote, and to present a Presidential candidate that is viable and has a possibility of actually getting elected, I propose that the collective membership of these individual parties, along with other centrist organizations, seriously consider the idea of organizing a coalition party. There are numerous benefits to unifying these minor organizations including, but not limited to:

  • A collective membership, under one “banner”, would yield enormous gains in political power.
  • Pooling financial resources to enable the coalition party to effectively campaign, across the nation, against the current, stagnant, leadership of this country.
  • Publicity generated, in the media, of this coalition party could instantly catapult this organization into the mind of the public as a true alternative to “politics as usual” and could forever change the political landscape of this country.
  • The effect would enable this coalition party to energize almost half of the potential voters of this country who have become disillusioned with the political process, and see no reason to waste their time in voting.

After carefully researching the platforms of each of these three parties, even with several major differences in ideology on certain issues, there are some areas where these party platforms appear to have similar characteristics. The need to compromise, on several issues, has not been taken lightly in the decision to call upon these individual parties to at least entertain this proposal in an effort to restore some sanity to America’s political process and give representation back to the American people. I call upon these organizations to earnestly consider this proposal in light of the current political climate that envelopes this nation. Collectively, we can effect a change for America. As a coalition, the potential to eradicate the corporate stranglehold on this nation is, not only possible, but probable in this climate of discontent with the current regime.

This article has been submitted to the above mentioned political parties and I will post their response, if one is given, when they become available. In the event that none of these organizations feel that they owe any allegiance to the American public, and choose to not respond within a reasonable time period, I will also make this known so that the citizens of this country may withdraw their support from these parties and form a “citizen coalition party” to effect this change. I am confident that these minor parties will come to the aid of America by working together to foment a change in the interest of America. This is a general call to action, so please feel free to send your comments or suggestions to the address below and I will post them as needed. In asking for this coalition alliance, I am ever in your service, should it be required. I can be reached at webmaster@govcov.com

Now, Back to the Future…

Although Bush was president and most citizens still had some confidence in legacy media to report the truth, most of the information the public received was obfuscation at best and outright lies from those who were in a position to serve the people. Our media continues to lie along with our political leaders. It is time for a different approach.

…more to come
